The Manufactories

Commissioned for Art in Manufacturing by The Festival of Making. Tim Denton was paired with OEP UK based in Preston who are specialists in the development of prefabricated building systems. 

The brief was to create an event structure in collaboration with the community and OEP. Inspired by Blackburn’s existing Architecture a series of workshops were ran to create blueprints and full scale models of an imagined structure inspired by Blackburn itself. The result is a celebratory archway inspired by over 300 drawings and full scale models developed in collaboration with the public and Engineering students at Blackburn College.
